A teacher in a temporary assignment at the Irondequoit High School in the West Irondequoit Central School District resigned this week, school officials reported on Friday, after an investigation led to evidence that she “engaged in inappropriate relationships with two students.”
The teacher - whose name has not been publically disclosed - was immediately released from employment, and district officials said they will file any necessary reports with the New York State Department of Education.
In a statement, officials said the district “hired this employee after a thorough vetting process that included personal and professional reference checks, state and local fingerprint clearances and multiple interviews. This employee received excellent references and passed the criminal background checks without any negative reports.”
